Huanuco

I wish that I could tell you all the amazing things the Lord did during this one week in Huanuco. It would take me days to explain all the things He did through the team. We went through a lot of schools and at each of them we did 3 of the skits we had been practicing, we shared testimonies and then just hung out with the people. On Thursday we had the opportunity to bless the church with food & testimonies. It was great! It went so well and everyone was so blessed. On Friday we went to a school way way way up in the mountains and it was crazy. I had never seen a place like this. The principal of the school told us that no one has came to the school to minister since 2005...she was so blessed and it was awesome to see. I really want to tell you guys all the details, but like I said it would take me forever. Just know that God is working in Peru...and He is reaching out to people.

I'm in Lima but I'm going to Huanuco over the Andes Mountain on Sunday evening. Please keep me and the rest of the group in prayer, we'll be ministering to the people of Huanuco and for a lot of us, it's a first time experience.

:) Love you all.

busy busy busy...

Estos pies! (That's my feet!) :)

I'm in the midst of getting homework finished & chilling out from worrying as I type. Me and worrying are often way too good of friends, it's a headache at times. The Lord is showing me not to worry though, He keeps reminding me to only think about today and let Him take care of what is next. All He's asking me to do is be obedient with what is in front of me. I don't know about you but for me, this is freedom. It's funny how obedience brings freedom. Well let me update you on what I've been doing this past week or so.

Last week was pretty slow, I was sick and I didn't do much...therefore I got behind on my Chuck tracks. While I was sick two awesome friends took care of me though and the campus pastor took me to the doctor. I didn't have anything wrong though, apparently the chills and fever were just a flu of some sort.

This week started with the book of Daniel with Rick Heilman. This class is so interesting and hard to understand when you just read straight through it without digging deep and digesting it as much as possible. The Lord has been teaching me through this class to have faith in God and be a true witness with my life. Daniel was an awesome example of that. Daniel 1:8 "But Daniel purposed in his heart that he would not defile himself..." I think that is something we all need to do, purpose in our heart that we won't give into the pressures of the world and that we won't put ourselves in positions of failure. One thing that our teacher encouraged us to do today was to be doers and not hearers only - James 1:22 & I encourage you to do the same.

Today was a good day, I had class, Skyped a friend from home, all the meals were yummy, went to Starbucks with a few friends, and now I'm writing to all of you :)
The rest of my night will be spent (Lord willing) starting & finishing a 6 page paper due Monday. Possibly some reading & maybe a Chuck track to squeeze in there.

November 2 on Monday I will be leaving for a week on a missions trip, I'm very excited and ask that you would keep the school in prayer, we're all going to different areas of Peru!

From the looks of it, I will be home for Christmas break, I will keep you updated though if the Lord changes my plans. I would love to come home & see my family and also stay here at the same time but from what I see now, the Lord is leading me to spend Christmas break at home with my family and friends (that's you guys!) Also, I'm still praying about next semester and where the Lord wants me...so please keep that in prayer!

Picture from today, walking home from Starbucks with -in order- Me, Kussy (aka Ivan), Gonzalo (aka Chuckie, pronounced Chookie)!

Here are a few pictures that Gonzalo took while we were all walking.

2 Corinthians 5:17

"Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation; old things have passed away; behold, all things have become new."

The Lord is doing amazing things when I least expect it.

Please pray for my health and for guidance still about what to do next semester and over break.

New favorite song:
Jennifer Knapp - Hold Me Now
From glass alabaster she poured out the depths of her soul
O foot of Christ would you wait if her harlotry's known?
Falls a tear to darken the dirt.
Of humblest offerings to forgive the hurt
She is strong enough to stand in your love

I can hear her say..."I am weak
I am poor, I'm broken Lord but I'm yours."
Hold me now, hold me now

Let he without sin cast the first stone if you will
To say that my bride isn't worth half the blood that I've spilled
Point your finger and laugh if you choose to say my beloved is borrowed and used

I can hear her say..."I am weak
I am poor, I'm broken Lord but I'm yours."
Hold me now, hold me now

Luke 7:36-50

2 Peter 3:9

"The Lord is not slack concerning His promise, as some count slackness, but is long suffering toward us, not willing that any should perish but that all should come to repentance."

Today my teacher for 1 & 2 Peter brought up this verse and the verses before it. If you read the verses before you will get the whole context of it. My teacher gave an awesome analogy and I'm going to paraphrase it the best I can.

If I were to tell you that I was going to come to your house today for dinner, you would clean up right away and get everything in order. But if I was to tell you that I was going to show up sometime this week, you would daily be cleaning up your house because you wouldn't know the exact time I was coming, you would just know that sometime I would be arriving.

If we have the return of Jesus in the forefront of our mind, we will be wanting to stay away from sin and we will want to be doing what He has called us to do. I encourage you to read through 1 & 2 Peter on your own time. The Lord has been using it a lot in my personal walk with Him...and I believe He will do the same in your life.

me & lauren yesterday...studying :)

Girl's night!

About to do some homework, just made some pizza, having a girls night around 10pm since all the boys are gone (at least the American ones) & then...going to sleep & Lord willing going to Churillos to see the kids :) Today was a good day, why? Because He cares for me.

Love you all.

Prayer request:
Guidance for next semester & break.
From the looks of it right now, I'll be flying home Dec 6th...unless the Lord guides me else where. I want to do what He wants, so please pray that I will have wisdom & an open heart & mind.
No matter what though, "Where God guides, God provides..." I have nothing to worry about!

2 Chronicles 20:12b "nor do we know what to do, but our eyes are upon You."

God bless!

I miss youuuuuuu!

2 Corinthians 5:17

Hmm...So I have spent all day, not doing homework. This is unacceptable.

But, it's been a productive day at the same time.

1. God is revealing things to me like never before in my Peter class..

2. I finally got the...what's the word...I don't know but I'm finally deleting my Facebook. I have my own personal reasons of deleting it but I definitely believe it's what the Lord wants for me.

3. It's one of my really good friends birthday! :)

4. I'm a new creation in Christ.

5. I cooked really good chinese food today with Jaunita, Matt & Alicia.

I take so much for granted, for instance, being here & being a child of God. I pray that you don't do the same. It's not fun haha...I think that when I start taking those for granted I have the worst days. I've been learning a lot about obedience this semester. Obedience...eeeeek. It's hard but you know what else I've been learning - He gives the strength I need. All I have to do is accept it. I wish all of you could experience what I'm experiencing. I'm learning so much.

It's funny how after a year in Bible College, I'm finally getting it. Obviously I don't know everything & I won't know everything ever in this life...but I'm learning, praise God. My heart is overwhelmed with joy. You know why? Because of Him.

God is good, therefore life is good.

:)

Daisy...

http://prayfordaisy.tumblr.com/

If you haven't heard about this little girl yet, I encourage you to do so. This is Britt Merrick's daughter...he is the pastor at Reality Carpenteria. She is 5 years old & has cancer. Click the link & pray! :)

So Speaker's Week just ended. It went really well, it was based on ministry. The Lord showed me a lot through that class & it was awesome. I came to the realization that everything I do - is about Jesus. That's the whole point of dying to yourself...is so He is glorified. God is good.

So the plan so far is for me to come home in December, but we'll see what the Lord does...I love it here & wouldn't mind staying over break until May when I graduate. Please pray that I would be guided by the Lord, I need wisdom in what to do!

Remember that you are a special treasure to God - He loves you & He cherishes you.

:)

Good morning, good afternoon or good evening :)

So...there is a lot to cover & I'm going to try to squeeze it all in here.
Last Saturday I didn't go to Ventanilla, instead I went to Churillos! It was a smaller ministry that needed some more help. I had an awesome time a lot of fun & the kids had such a good time! Here are some pictures from then:

Today, Friday, we finished Matthew class! :D It was so good & I learned more than I thought I was going to. We took our exam today & I got 100% Praise the Lord, it was awesome. Studying definitely pays off!

The next class I'll be taking is on Prophecy and Dan Edwards is teaching it, I'm pretty sure that's his name. I'm excited about that, it doesn't have any homework :)The class after that will be 1&2 Peter.
